A Journey Through Thailand Lab International 2023

Thailand LAB INTERNATIONAL & Bio Asia Pacific 2023 set a new record with the highest number of participants in 10 years and created resilience in the Laboratory Equipment Industry with business negotiations worth over 600 million Baht

The Thailand LAB INTERNATIONAL, Bio Asia Pacific, and FutureCHEM INTERNATIONAL 2023 concluded spectacularly and exceeded expectations by breaking the record with the highest number of participants in 10 years. The show hosted 11,095 attendees from 34 countries around the world. The top five countries in terms of participants were the Philippines, India, China, Singapore, and Malaysia. These participants divided into more than 45% of investors and buyers led to business negotiations throughout the three days from September 6th to 8th, 2023, at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC). The organizers, VNU Asia Pacific, in collaboration with the Science and Technology Trade Association (STTA) and the Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS), expressed their great satisfaction with the show’s success. The show served as a catalyst for investment in laboratory equipment, totaling 600 million Baht, in the Asia region by the year’s end.

 

Mr. Anucha Parnpichate, Senior Project Manager of VNU Asia Pacific, stated, “The organizers are delighted with the success of this show. The attendance statistics for this year indicate that Thailand has overcome the economic challenges resulting from the pandemic in the past few years and is ready to revitalize businesses in the laboratory equipment, life sciences, and chemistry sectors. The data collected from the show revealed that 70% of the pre-registered attendees actually participated in the show this year. It garnered significant interest from the chemical, food and beverage, biotechnology, laboratory equipment, and medical device industries, with 43% coming from the chemical industry, 26% from investors and distributors, and 15% from researchers at universities with over 70 percent having decision-making authority. This indicates that our trade show this year effectively responded to the needs of buyers and sellers.”

Thailand LAB INTERNATIONAL showcased technology and innovations in laboratory equipment for scientific laboratories, Bio Asia Pacific showcased research, innovations, and technology in the fields of life sciences, biotechnology, and modern healthcare, and FutureCHEM INTERNATIONAL presented chemical innovations for future industries. These shows collectively occupied over 14,000 square meters and featured a blend of laboratory equipment for various industries with more than 270 exhibitors and more than 500 leading brands. Additionally, the event served as a platform for business negotiations through various activities, including social events such as the official opening ceremony, the welcome reception & networking night, guided tours for visitors from industrial factories and international associations, and LAB Redemption, a new activity that enhanced the visitor experience at the exhibition. Each of these activities garnered significant interest from attendees.

Enriching knowledge in new research, updating laboratory standards, and enhancing knowledge in scientific laboratories, life sciences, and chemistry were emphasized through 70 seminar topics delivered by more than 250 speakers from various countries. These seminars aimed to share knowledge and experiences throughout the three days of the show.

In addition to the existing shows, there will also be a brand-new launch which will be held next year under the “Health & Innovation Asia 2024, which will be co-located with Thailand LAB INTERNATIONAL 2024 from September 11th to 13th, 2024, at BITEC Bangkok. This show serves as a new platform for the health technology industry and medical and public health innovations. To promote Thailand’s Digital Health Tech revolution, Health & Innovation Asia 2024 is ready to transform Bangkok. Into the center of medical and health innovation, driven by technology that will revolutionize the future of holistic healthcare.
