Job Title: Eminent Scientist
Job Description: NIBMG, West Bengal is hiring for the position of Eminent Scientist, on contractual appointment initially for a period of three years, extendable up to two more years; being appointed for the Institute’s flagship project on combining genomics, environmental exposures and artificial intelligence methods to detect and predict clinical outcomes of Cervical Cancer. The applicant should have proven expertise in Genomics and wide research experience on Cervical Cancer using population-based, case-control, and functional approaches. The candidate should have an outstanding track record of publications in molecular genetics and deep commitment to Cancer Research. He / She will provide leadership, guidance, and coordination primarily to the flagship project of the Institute, but will also engage with other projects. He /She will also participate in other activities of Institution, e.g. teaching, research planning, research guidance, etc.

About the Organization: The National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) https://www.nibmg.ac.in/ has been established as an autonomous institution by the Government of India, under the aegis of the Department of Biotechnology. This is the first institution in India explicitly devoted to research, training, translation & service and capacity-building in biomedical genomics. It is located in Kalyani, West Bengal, India, about 50 km. from Kolkata. Connected to Kolkata by highways, expressways, and railways, it takes about one and one-half hours to reach Kalyani from Kolkata. The Institute operates from its huge 30-acre campus with academic blocks, student and faculty housing, guest houses, conference center and other facilities. Laboratories, equipment (including flow-cell sequencers, whole-genome genotyping and gene expression platforms, multiplex suspension array platform, high-end computing platforms, FACS Aria-FUSION, etc.), bio-banking facility, state-of-the-art tissue culture facilities and stem cell laboratory, office space and classrooms have been established.
